Death Wish remake gets a grindhouse trailer

Eli Roth’s remake of Death Wish opens soon and a new Grindhouse style trailer has been released via Roth’s CryptTV.

A remake of Michael Winner and Wendell Mayes’ 1974 thriller, it sees Dr. Paul Kersey (Bruce Willis) eager for revenge after his wife (Elisabeth Shue) and daughter (Camila Morrone) are viciously attacked in their home. With the police unable to help, Paul takes it upon himself to hunt down his family’s assailants and deliver justice. However, as he takes the law into his own hands, his actions grab the attention of the media.

While the initial trailer for the film had a somewhat lighthearted tone (using AC/DC’s Back in Black), the new trailer takes Death Wish to almost comedic levels, filtered with an aged print and an over the top voiceover provided by Corey Burton (who also happened to do the voiceover for the actual Grindhouse trailer). Be warned that this is a redband trailer that features blood and splattered brains.

The film also stars Vincent D’Onofrio, Dean Norris Jack Kesy and Mike Epps. Death Wish opens in the US on 2 March 2018 and in the UK on 6 April 2018.
