Rebooted isometric shooter Fear Effect Sedna will be released on March 6th, publisher Square Enix Collective has announced.

If Fear Effect Sedna is new to you, the game combines action, stealth and puzzle-solving into a third-person isometric shooter.

The follow-up comes nearly twenty years after the series first debuted on PlayStation and reunites the same cast of characters once again. The original writer is back involved with the project too, to tell a story that plummets Hana, Rain, Glas and Deke into the world of Inuit mythology.

The first two games stood out back in the days of the PS1 for their cel-shaded art style, overtly gruesome death scenes and, eventually, the fairly gratuitous approach they took to the relationship between two of the game’s central characters. Let’s hope everyone involved has matured a bit by now.

If you’d rather wait to catch up with the story so far, a remake of the original game named sensibly named Fear Effect Reinvented is currently in development for PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC.

On the other hand, you can jump right in with Fear Effect Sedna on March 6th on those very same platforms.
