With seven films spanning 30 years, Chucky has a legacy that only a few horror legends can boast of. Now the possessed ‘Good Guy’ doll will be getting his own TV series.

Bloody Disgusting talked to series creator Don Mancini, who has scripted every film in the franchise and went on to direct Seed of Chucky, Curse of Chucky and the last film, Cult of Chucky. Mancini revealed that he and producer David Kirschner are developing a “dark and disturbing”Child’s Play TV series that will consist of eight hourlong episodes.

Of the show, Mancini said, “We want to definitely signal that we are going dark, darker than ever before. It’s going to be very creepy.” He also revealed that Brad Dourif, who has voiced Chucky in every film, will be returning for the TV series.

Bloody Disgusting also talked to producer Kirschner who mentioned that the series is not a reboot but will continue where Cult of Chucky left off, saying that it will “explore a world in which we’ve never done before.”
