Star Wars: The Last Jedi has just passed the $1billion mark for ticket sales worldwide…and already talk is shifting to the next Star Wars movie, Solo: A Star Wars Story, which is set to be released on May 25th.

And we still haven’t seen a single official still or any kind of trailer… more than likely because Disney doesn’t want to shift focus away from the frightening money making machine that The Last Jedi has appeared to be.

Consequently, fans are clamoring for any clue…and Rebel Scum has posted images and details reportedly from the first LEGO sets based on the movie…

The sets include what appears to be a new kind of Stormtrooper, as well as several landspeeders based on designs seen in early set pictures from before Phil Lord and Chris Miller’s exit from the movie and tweeted by TMZ back in May.

Although toy spoilers are not always accurate, most interesting is a set based on the new-old Millennium Falcon, which has the previously rumoured blue trims as well as some rumoured modifications to the overall design and dubbed the “Kessel Run Millennium Falcon” by LEGO.

Gone is the gap between the front of the Falcon, which one fan already pointed out might go against the canon established in The Force Awakens Incredible Cross Sections book.

The Kessel Run is the famous smuggler’s route from the spice-mine planet that Han claimed the Falcon performed in less than 12 parsecs and a location Ron Howard has previously teased as maybe appearing in the film.

However, it has also been pointed out that the image in question never actually made it into the final book, so it’s not actually established as canon. Consequently, seeing the Falcon without the pronged front doesn’t violate anything already established in the Star Wars universe. Even if it did, it would stand to reason that this could easily just be a modification and it could only be a temporary addition.

Could the infamous Kessel Run actually take place in the movie..? Will it clear up once and for all the issue of the use of “parsec”?

In Episode IV, Han proudly boasts that the Millennium Falcon is the ship that “made the Kessel Run in less than 12 parsecs”. Unfortunately, a parsec is a unit of measurement for distance, not speed, which makes Han look a bit silly and Lucas even sillier. Apparently however, a fourth draft of the script includes mention of a bemused look from Obi Wan directed at Han, who is perhaps trying to impress these Tatooine yocals with clever-sounding techbabble. A fan theory has even made its way into the expanded universe clarifying this issue further: Han is actually boasting about is the Falcon’s ability to safely navigate the dangerous Kessel Run by the shortest possible route.

The Kessel Run is not a conventional A-to-B trade route, but a smuggler’s hyperlane used to avoid Imperial Cruisers by going close to a cluster of black holes known as “The Maw”. It’s conventionally 18 parsecs, but thanks to Han’s navigation skills and the Falcon’s speed he’s able to fly closer to the Maw and thus shave off 6 parsecs from the usual distance travelled.

Other tantalizing tidbits include a new Imperial soldier called a Range Trooper, as well as what might be a pair of bounty hunters who come with that Landspeeder set. Sadly the leaked pics are too small to be able to pick out more details, so fingers crossed some high-resolution images will surface online soon so we can learn a little more.

Details revealing several names of characters set to feature alongside Alden Ehrenreich’s iconic smuggler in May’s Anthology movie have now appeared on Reddit…

In addition to confirming the rumours of Rebolt (Ian Kenny) and Moloch (Harley Durst), the LEGO sets reveal that Woody Harrelson’s character is called Tobias Beckett, Emilia Clarke will play Qi’Ra, Thandie Newton is Quay Tolsite and Phoebe Waller-Bridge is the droid DD-BD.
