Anyone interested in finding out if a pirate’s life is for them is in luck as Rare has announced the next Sea of Thieves closed beta is scheduled for the end of the month.

Starting from 12pm GMT on January 24th and running until 8pm GMT on January 28th, you’ll get access to a specially crafted section of the jolly pirate sim for five days.

Rare promises a healthy dose of ‘sailing, shanties and shenanigans’ that will give you a taste of what to expect from the co-operative sea-faring adventures in the full game.

If you want to participate in the closed beta you must have signed up for the Sea of Thieves Insider Program before December 1st last year. Anyone who pre-orders the game will also be granted access. More details can be found on the Xbox news site.

Sea of Thieves is scheduled for release on Xbox One and PC on March 20th.
