Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire release date announced for April

Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire will be released on April 3rd for PC, Mac and Linux, Obsidian and Versus Evil have announced.


The follow-up to 2015’s exquisite cRPG sends you on a dangerous voyage across the seas to the new region of Deadfire. Deep and rich RPG mechanics, impactful player choices and vast areas of exploration are all promised, so if you’re looking for your next fix of old-school RPG action then this is one to keep an eye on.

Alongside the release date, Versus Evil also announced that pre-orders for Pillars of Eternity 2 are now live in a number of special editions. The Standard Edition will set you back $49.99 and will come with three exclusive pre-order items: the St. Drogga’s Skull weapon, Beakhead, the Hawk (In-Game Pet) and The Black Flag item.

The Deluxe Edition will cost $59.99 and include the game’s official soundtrack, a digital pen and paper RPG starter guide, game map, digital guidebook and a host of other in-game items.

Lastly, the Obsidian Edition comes in at $74.99 and includes everything in the game’s Deluxe Edition, plus the first three DLC expansions to the game released at a later date. A physical version of the Obsidian Edition will also be available for $79.99, which comes with a cloth map of the Deadfire region, a notepad and set of postcards.
