Another day, another attempt to bring what should be an amazing video game franchise to life. Yes, that’s right someone else is having a stab at an Alien-themed game.

FoxNext Games — the video game, virtual reality and theme park division of 20th Century Fox — has announced a new shooter game that will be set in the Alien universe.

The game will be the first Alien game title since Alien: Isolation was launched in 2014. The new game will be available for PC and consoles, but specific details are still under wraps.

Bay area-based Cold Iron Studios, which was just acquired by FoxNext on Wednesday, will develop the game. Cold Iron has worked on such other large-scale projects as 2009’s Borderlands, 2013’s BioShock Infinite and the 2010 MMORPG Star Trek Online. So, at least there’s some significant, quality experience there.

However, it’s also worth casting your mind to other catastrophic attempts to do exactly this. Aliens: Colonial Marines, released in 2013, was nothing short of utter disaster.

A release date for the upcoming Alien game has not been revealed. A cursory glance at Wiki shows there was a game in development by FoxNext based on Alien Covenant, but it’s not known if this is related to the new project.
