Hayao Miyazaki’s latest short film, Boro the Caterpillar (Kemushi no Boro), will be screened later this year, as reported on Natalie and revealed by Ghibli. But it will not be shown in cinemas, nor will it be released on DVD and Blu-ray. The only place to see it will be at the Ghibli Museum‘s Saturn Theater in Mitaka, Tokyo.

The short is the first film Miyazaki has worked on since his feature film The Wind Rises back in 2013. At 14 minutes long, Boro the Caterpillar will screen at the Ghibli Museum from 21 March 2018. It tells of a newly hatched caterpillar stepping out and seeing the world for the first time, where it meets friends and enemies.

Despite announcing his retirement from feature films after The Wind Rises, Miyazaki is also currently working on the feature How Do You Live? (Kimitachi wa Do Ikiru ka).
