Final Fantasy 15 Royal Edition confirmed for release this March

After some sneaky internet detectives spotted a listing for Final Fantasy 15 Royal Edition on the ESRB website, Square Enix has now confirmed the JRPG re-release is coming March 6th on PS4, Xbox One and PC.

In addition to some wild new box art from Yoshitaka Amano, Final Fantasy 15 Royal Edition will (as expected) come bundled with all of the game’s pre-existing DLC. That’s every individual character episode, the multiplayer Comrades DLC and all the smaller content packs included in the game’s season pass.

However, that’s not all. The Royal Edition will also add a host of new features and content to the game.

First up, the Insomnia City Ruins – the final dungeon of the main game – has been extended and expanded to include new bosses and encounters. Secondly, you’re now able to command the Royal Vessel to venture across the game’s oceans and drive a monster truck. Lastly, Noct’s combat capabilities have also been improved with the Armiger Unleashed feature.

It seems, then, that over a year after the game’s original release, Tabata and the team at Square Enix might finally have hit upon the version of the game they’ve wanted to release all along.

Previous owners of Final Fantasy 15 will be able to download the extra Royal Edition content for $19.99.
