Rumours abound that a remaster of seminal destructive racer Burnout Paradise is set to be released for PS4 and Xbox One later this year.

Gematsu picked up the news that the game, under the superfluous title of Burnout Paradise HD Remaster, will be released on PS4 in Japan on March 16th.

This follows on from a leak picked up by the Brazillian site GamePress which spotted PS4 and Xbox One listings for the remaster in a supplier’s database with a March 1st release date.

It wouldn’t be a too outlandish re-release considering the popularity of the 2008 open-world racer. Add to that the middling response to the recent run of Need for Speed games too, perhaps now is the perfect time for the return of Burnout?
