Bandai Namco’s ‘Black Clover Project’ – first details

After announcing the ‘BC Project‘ back in December, Bandai Namco has revealed the first gameplay details for their upcoming game based on the Black Clover manga and anime series.

Details are still fairly thin, but will now know that the game will be a 4v4 team fighter, with different characters fulfilling unique roles within each battle.

For example, Asta is a ‘Melee’ character. He can attack with aggressive magic, wall run and deal high damage in close range combat.

Yuno and Gauche are ‘Range’ characters – unsurprisingly, they excel in long distance skirmishes and have excellent mobility.

Character types are rounded out with ‘Barrier’ and ‘Healer’ specialisations, which can help protect and restore allies, respectively. Examples of this in the game include Noelle and Mimosa.

In addition to standard team brawls, the game will also feature battles with specific rules. One announced so far is an ‘Area Controlling Fight’, which sounds like an awkwardly worded version of classic Control Point or King of the Hill modes.

That’s all we have to go on for now but should give you a half-decent idea of what to expect. We’ll be keeping an eye out over the coming months ahead of the game’s release on PS4 and Xbox One in 2018.
