The new series of Cardcaptor Sakura: Clear Card is just days away, and Sakura’s best friend Tomoyo cannot contain her excitement. Known for making Sakura’s costumes and filming her adventures, NHK Japan has released an advert showing just how happy Tomoyo is.

The Clear Card arc has Sakura Kinomoto starting her first year at Tomoeda middle school and being reunited with Syaoran Li, who has returned from Hong Kong. However, after Sakura has a strange dream involving a mysterious hooded figure, she wakes up to discover that her magical cards are now blank and no longer work. The following night, Sakura has another dream where she is gifted a key from the hooded figure; a key which summons a new sealing wand and allows Sakura to collect new cards.

The new advert also delivers this slice of cuteness with Tomoyo, Sakura and Kero.

From animation studio Madhouse, with director Morio Asaka returning to helm the new 26 episode series, Cardcaptor Sakura: Clear Card will air in Japan on NHK BS Premium at 7:30am on Sunday 7 January 2018. For those outside of Japan, Crunchyroll revealed that they will simulcast the series.
