Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi movie reportedly filming in 2019

Ever since Disney announced they were making anthology Star Wars installments – like the Han Solo movie – fans have naturally been wondering when the inevitable Obi-Wan Kenobi spin-off would come.

Back in August, The Hollywood Reporter claimed that, following Solo: A Star Wars Story, the studio was indeed planning an Obi-Wan-centred project with Billy Elliot (2014) director Stephen Daldry attached.

While there’s still no word on whether Ewan McGregor will return, having played the character in the prequels, there’s already reportedly a date set for filming.

Omega Underground discovered an update from Pinewood Studios, revealing Daldry, along with LucasFilm head Kathleen Kennedy and producer Tracey Seaward, have booked the iconic London-based studio for January 2019.

There’s no official confirmation on any of this as yet, but the evidence is strong.

In case you’ve just emerged from cryogenic sleep, Star Wars: The Last Jedi opens at the end of this week…and the world has gone Star Wars crazy. Here at MyM, we can’t wait for the Willrow Hood movie.

Watch out for our review coming on this Tuesday – that’s tomorrow! At 5pm UK time, 12noon ET.
