Following on from the dance battle video between Team Skull and Team Pikachu, Japan’s official Pokémon YouTube channel has now uploaded a video featuring Mimikyu and Pikachu engaging in a rap battle.

To promote Pokémon Ultra Sun and Pokémon Ultra Moon for Nintendo 3DS, the video features Mimikyu and Pikachu both on stage freestyling, with a crowd cheering their efforts (blink and you’ll miss Team Skull amongst the crowd). The description for the video not only has the lyrics but tells us that Mimikyu is voiced by Japanese rapper DOTAMA (who also supervised the freestyling), while Pikachu is voiced by Pokémon‘s original voice actress Ikue Ōtani. The DJ providing the music is LIBRO.

We knew Pikachu was into rap music when we saw him getting down to N.W.A.’s Straight Outta Compton, but who could have guessed that his talents would extend this far. Check out the video below to see who wins the battle.
