A full two-minute trailer for Cardcaptor Sakura: Clear Card has been uploaded by NHK Japan, as well as a subtitled trailer by Crunchyroll, as they announced that they will be streaming the new series.

The Clear Card arc has Sakura Kinomoto starting her first year at Tomoeda middle school, as well as being reunited with Syaoran Li, who has returned from Hong Kong. However, after Sakura has a strange dream involving a mysterious hooded figure, she wakes up to discover that her magical cards are now blank and no longer work. The following night, Sakura has another dream where she is gifted a key from the hooded figure; a key which summons a new sealing wand and allows Sakura to collect new cards.

The new trailer features Sakura starting middle school and being reunited by Syaoran, as well her strange dream. We also see her dodging ‘no ordinary’ wind, a range of new costumes by best friend Tomoyo and returning characters such as Keroberos, Yukito, Yue, Toya and Eriol. The trailer also includes a snippet of the opening theme song CLEAR by Maaya Sakamoto, and the ending theme Jewelry by Saori Hayami.

From animation studio Madhouse, with director Morio Asaka returning to helm the new series, Cardcaptor Sakura: Clear Card will air in Japan on NHK BS Premium at 7:30am on Sunday 7 January 2018.
