Jasmine Gyuh’s comedic manga Back Street Girls will receive an anime adaptation, as reported on Natalie. The manga is running in Kodansha’s Young Magazine in Japan, with the latest issue announcing that the manga will be adapted into an anime TV series.

After three yakuza gangsters ruin a business deal, their boss gives them a choice – they can either kill themselves, or they can undergo a sex change operation and earn back the money they lost by becoming female idols. They choose the latter. After a year of training and medical operations to become perfect idols, they debut to surprising success.

Back Street Girls first appeared in Young Magazine in March 2015. The ninth compiled volume hits the shelves in Japan on 6 December 2017.
