The battle for humanity’s survival continues as season 2 of the anime adventure Attack on Titan arrives on DVD, Blu-ray and limited edition Blu-ray in the UK on February 26,

2000 years from now, humans are nearly exterminated by titans. Titans are typically several stories tall, seem to have no intelligence, devour human beings and, worst of all, seem to do it for the pleasure rather than as a food source. A small percentage of humanity survived by walling themselves in a city protected by extremely high walls, even taller than the biggest of titans.

Flash forward to the present and the city has not seen a titan in over 100 years. Teenage boy Eren (Yuki Kaji) and his foster sister Mikasa (Yui Ishikawa) witness something horrific as the city walls are destroyed by a colossal titan that appears out of thin air. As the smaller titans flood the city, the two kids watch in horror as their mother is eaten alive. Eren vows that he will murder every single titan and take revenge for all of mankind.

Produced by the WIT Studio (The Ancient Magus’ Bride), Attack on Titan season 2 is helmed by Chief Director Tetsuro Araki (Death Note) and Director Masashi Koizuka (Attack on Titan episode director). Shunichi Yoshihara (JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure) returns as Art Director, with character designs by Kyoji Asano (PSYCHO-PASS) and music composed by Hiroyuki Sawano (Kill la Kill).

The limited edition Blu-ray and DVD set includes episode commentaries, Anime Expo 2017 interview with Trina Nishimura, Tetsuya Kinoshita and Yui Ishikawa, an interview with original creator Hajime Isayama, a feature called “Inside the Episode”, a gallery, promotional videos, additional trailers and special versions of the theme songs, together with a 24-page “Notes From Beyond the Wall: Part III”, plus an exclusive 60-page art book, with concept art and behind-the-scenes content.

The standard Blu-ray box set will feature episode commentaries and interviews, “Notes From Beyond the Wall: Part III” and the art book.

Pricing has yet to be announced.
