LEGO Star Wars Super Star Destroyer rumoured for 2018

Rumours are circulating that a LEGO Star Wars Ultimate Collector Series (UCS) Super Star Destroyer will be available early next year.

Less than three months after the launch of UCS 75192 Millennium Falcon, a Reddit user is sharing the rumour that the Super Star Destroyer will be getting the LEGO Star Wars UCS treatment again with a release date likely to be February 2018. With the recent announcement of 10256 Taj Mahal, it is unknown whether the Super Star Destroyer will be a faithful reissue or an updated version.

The Executor Class Super Star Destroyer was nearly 12 miles in length and had a crew of 280,000

The previous LEGO Star Wars 10221 Super Star Destroyer was discontinued just three years ago, but it’s possible to still pick one up for about a thousand clams. It’s a much shorter time frame than the 10 years that fans had to wait for a new Millennium Falcon and the nine years between Taj Mahal releases.

However, the UCS 10030 Imperial Star Destroyer was retired nine years ago and consequently many speculate that this will be the model that’s re-released. At the time of release in 2002 it was the largest set in size and contained the Imperial Star Destroyer on a stand plus a mini Rebel Blockade Runner also to scale on a stand. It had 3104 pieces and you can pick up now for anywhere between $400 to $800.

The Imperial I-class Star Destroyer was 1,600 metres in length and equipped with class 2 hyperdrive

Remember though, this is all very much still rumour.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi will be released on December 14 in the UK and December 15 in the USA. The LEGO sets based on the upcoming movie are available now.
