EA is set to buy Respawn Entertainment, the developer behind frenetic mech shooter series Titanfall.
Kotaku broke the news, stating that the publisher has paid in the region of $455 million to acquire Respawn. They released Titanfall 2 in 2016 to middling sales but excellent review scores.
Right now, the developer is working on three new games. This includes a new entry in the Titanfall series and a virtual reality game for Oculus.
The third project is in partnership with LucasArts to develop a “new adventure” set in the Star Wars universe.
