Koei Tecmo has confirmed when you’ll next be able to button mash your way through hordes of enemy forces in the upcoming Dynasty Warriors 9 – it’s February 13th, 2018.

Coming to PS4, Xbox One and PC, Dynasty Warriors 9 takes a more open-world approach for the first time in the series. Now, you can take on ‘Critical Missions’ which further the story of your chosen warrior, or distract yourself with a number of side quests that may affect upcoming battles.

It definitely sounds like some of these new additions can alleviate how one-note the series has been in the past. Although, at the end of the day, sometimes you just want to mindlessly hit things – and that’s fine too!

Alongside the release date, Koei Tecmo also confirmed a number of pre-order incentives, including seven bonus costumes for fan favourite characters such as Zhao Yun, Sun Shangxiang and Wang Yi.
