Free-to-play action-RPG Marvel Heroes is to be shut down by Disney after suspending their relationship with the game’s developer, Gazillion Entertainment.

The game, which sits somewhere along the lines of Diablo run by the Avengers Initiative, allows you to venture out with a party of Marvel superheroes to battle villains and gather loot in randomly generated levels.

It first launched on PC back in 2013 and has more recently come to consoles under the rebranded name of Marvel Heroes Omega. Now, however, the game will be switched off for good.

In a statement to Kotaku, Disney said: “We regret to inform our Marvel Heroes fans that we have ended our relationship with Gazillion Entertainment, and that the Marvel Heroes games will be shut down. We would like to sincerely thank the players who joined the Marvel Heroes community, and will provide any further updates as they become available.”
