Warhammer: Vermintide II confirmed for early 2018

After announcing Warhammer: Vermintide II at the end of August, Fatshark has now debuted the first footage of the stab-em-up sequel and confirmed a release date of Q1 2018.

Clearly, there are a lot of similarities to the original game but there are also noticeable differences in the game’s combat against the new Chaos faction. Where the first game felt very much like Left 4 Dead as you chopped through wave after wave of Skaven, enemies in the sequel appear fewer and more robust.

Perhaps the game will lean more towards an RPG rather than a co-op action game?

That could be evidenced in the addition of 15 hero careers, talent trees and a ‘Heroic Deeds’ system, which will all bulk up that side of the game.

Vermintide II is the evolution of the genre. If you liked the first game, you’ll love the second,” says Martin Wahlund, CEO of Fatshark. “We have listened to the community, analyzed hours and hours of online playthroughs, and combined this with our passion for co-op games to bring you the very best experience possible.”
