Preacher has been renewed by AMC for a third season. The news was announced by exec producer Seth Rogen on Twitter.

The 13-episode third season will debut in 2018, according to the announcement. Rogen is a co-producer on the show along with Evan Goldberg and Sam Catlin. It’s based on the Vertigo comic book of the same name by Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon, which ran from 1995-2000.

This awesome, action-packed, pumping powerhouse of a TV series is frickin’ fantastic and if you’re not already a huge fan, then you need to start watching, ’cause you’re missing out on one of the best series currently on TV.

Just watch this scene which introduces us to the delicious Herr Starr (Pip Torrens) and tell me you don’t now immediately want to watch all of season one and two…

The show, which wrapped season two in September, follows Jesse Custer, a small-town preacher with a criminal past who accidentally ingests the Word of God, making him able to command people to do whatever he tells them. When angels come to retrieve the Word of God, Jesse and his on-off girlfriend Tulip and an Irish vampire named Cassidy, drive across the US to find God, who’s gone missing from Heaven. Dominic Cooper (Captain America: First Avenger, Warcraft) plays Jesse, Ruth Negga (Warcraft, Agents of SHIELD) stars as Tulip and Joseph Gilgun (The Last Witch Hunter) plays Cassidy.

Last season saw the trio leave their West Texas town, which was completely destroyed, and travel to New Orleans, the last known whereabouts of God, who happens to be a really big fan of jazz. Hot on their tail is the Saint of Killers, the Angel of Death hired to collect their heads.
