Amazon Video has released the full trailer for the series Jean-Claude Van Johnson.

Jean-Claude Van Damme stars as “Jean-Claude Van Damme,” the martial artist and film star. However, he also happens to go under the name “Johnson” when working as the world’s most dangerous undercover spy. Despite being unhappily retired, a chance encounter lures him back into the game.

Van Damme has played himself up before, notably in the movie JCVD, but as Johnson, he sends up his tough-guy persona. As well as adopting various disguises, the trailer shows us his inability to perform a roundhouse kick, his work partners talking about him being “not ready”, as well as racing blindfolded.

The pilot for the show first aired on Amazon Prime video back in the summer of 2016, proving successful enough to go ahead as a series. From Scott Free Productions, with Ridley Scott executive producing, the series is directed by Peter Atencio, and written and created by Dave Callaham. It also stars Kat Foster, Moises Arias and Phylicia Rashad.

Jean-Claude Van Johnson is available to stream on Amazon Prime Video from 15 December 2017.
