French Science Fiction Series Missions Is On The Way To The BBC

French series Missions has had a very good year. Created by Henri Debeurme, Julien Lacombe and Ami Cohen, and directed by Julien Lacombe it opens with Swiss billionaire William Meyer (Mathias Mlekuz) and his eight-strong crew one day away from Mars. But when they get news they’ve been overtaken by their American rival events spiral out of control. Other crews may have got to Mars before either of them, and what should have been a historic event soon becomes a rescue mission…

The show has done massively well, winning the Discovery Prize at French festival Series Mania and the TV Critic’s best series awards at the MIP Drama Screenings in Cannes in April. Now, it’s en route to BBC Four, German network RTL Passion and Danish public broadcaster DR. It will air in the UK in 2018 and, as you’ll see below, looks GREAT. We’re always there for good astronaut shows and astronautical derring do mixed with mystery and (maybe) horror? Sign us up
