FEMM‘s first music video from their 80s/90s J-POP REVIVAL album has been released, a cover of Wink’s Samishii Nettaigyo. And if you didn’t know any better, you’d think this was actually from the 1980s.

Samishii Nettaigyo was originally released by Wink in 1989, a duo that consisted of Sachiko Suzuki and Shoko Aida. The track was one of the biggest hits of their career.

The new video from FEMM is directed by Sho Hatano of OKNACK FILMS and sees RiRi take on the role of Suzuki and LuLa as Aida, in what is essentially a shot-for-shot remake. With a nostalgic look retaining the 4:3 aspect ratio, it wouldn’t be all that surprising if they did actually shoot it on video.

FEMM’s 80s/90s J-POP REVIVAL will be released digitally on 18 October, with a physical release on 25 October. Keeping with the retro theme, the physical release in Japan will include CD and cassette tape.
