Red Dead Redemption 2 gets new trailer ahead of Spring 2018 release

Rockstar Games has debuted a new trailer for Red Dead Redemption 2, giving us further insight into the open-world western’s story.

Players will be taking on the role of Arthur Morgan, head of the Van der Linde gang. “They’ll rob, fight and steal their way across the vast and rugged heart of America in order to survive,” says Rockstar. You may remember that Dutch van der Linde was one of the primary antagonists in the original Red Dead Redemption and was in a gang alongside John Marston. Prequel confirmed, then?

The trailer shows off a train robbery (because it wouldn’t be a western if there wasn’t a train robbery, right?), gunfights, horse-taming and a bunch of tough goons threatening each other. It all looks very, very exciting.

We don’t get much of an idea of what’s new in the sequel, though this is more than enough to keep the hype train rolling until the game’s inevitable delay early next year.

For now, though, Red Dead Redemption 2 is scheduled for release Spring 2018 on PS4 and Xbox One.
