Looking for a fresh take on Batman? Those with Apple flavoured smartphones and tablets can now try Batman – The Telltale Series, as episode one has been made available for free in perpetuity for all iOS users!

Telltale has also launched a free comprehensive performance update that provides significant technical improvements to the critically-acclaimed video game, and should ensure the series runs smoothly on a broader range of iOS-based devices.

Rendered to look like a living, breathing comic book, Telltale’s vision of Batman (in association with Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and DC Entertainment) features an award-winning cast of talent, including Troy Baker in the role of Bruce Wayne, Travis Willingham as Harvey Dent, Erin Yvette as Vicki Vale, Enn Reitel as Alfred Pennyworth, Murphy Guyer as Lieutenant James Gordon, Richard McGonagle as Carmine Falcone, Jason Spisak as Oswald Cobblepot, Dave Fennoy as Lucius Fox, Anthony Ingruber as John Doe, and Laura Bailey as Selina Kyle.

In the series’ opening episode, entitled Realm of Shadows, Bruce Wayne discovers his father was, in fact, a ruthless crime boss, forcing him to question everything he thought he knew about his identity. As both Bruce and Batman, players must negotiate harsh political realities and prevent Gotham City from descending into chaos while digging into the truth about the Wayne family’s sordid past.

The decisions players make across Batman – The Telltale Series then optionally carry over into the ongoing second season, Batman: The Enemy Within.

As with all currently available episodes, Realm of Shadows is rated ‘Mature’ by the ESRB.
