Global pre-orders are now underway for the Xbox One X, originally titled Project Scorpio, ahead of the 7 November 2017 launch date.

And a limited-edition, fan-inspired design that riffs off that initial name (featuring a custom colour and vertical stand, with the words “Project Scorpio” printed on the console and the Xbox Wireless Controller), is one of the pre-order options available while stocks last. The Xbox One X Project Scorpio Edition starts at £449 GBP.

Meanwhile, Microsoft hopes to squeeze some more life out of its current console with the Xbox One S Minecraft Limited Edition Bundle (1TB), which includes a custom designed grass block console, a Minecraft Creeper Xbox Wireless Controller, Minecraft system sounds, vertical stand and transparent underside with Redstone circuit accents.

“For the countless enthusiasts who’ve sent us their designs, posted their requests, or simply dreamt of a console built out of grass and dirt blocks – this one’s for you,” Microsoft said.

The Xbox One S Minecraft Limited Edition Bundle also includes a full game download of Minecraft, plus the Redstone Pack, a collection of unique skin packs. It’s available in limited quantities for pre-order now and launches on 3 October 2017, starting at £349.99.

Two Xbox Wireless Minecraft Controllers (the Minecraft Pig controller and the Minecraft Creeper controller) will also be available ahead of that launch, from 21 September 2017, priced £64.99.

Microsoft has also revealed more details about the line-up of games coming to the Xbox family of devices, including the news that over 100 new and existing Xbox One titles will be enhanced for Xbox One X, to take advantage of the “world’s most powerful console”.

That includes Halo 5, NBA 2K18, Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus, ReCore: Definitive EditionFIFA 18, Star Wars Battlefront IIBelow and remastered versions of Disneyland Adventures, Rush: A Disney-Pixar Adventure and Zoo Tycoon.

And UK gamers have the opportunity to experience the new console before its release. The Xbox One X will be appearing exclusively at EGX 2017, where the console will make its full UK playable public debut.

“Xbox One was available to play first in the UK at EGX 2013 and we’re delighted that Microsoft has again chosen EGX to demonstrate its cutting-edge hardware first. It’s a further demonstration that EGX is the number one UK event for launching new product,” said David Lilley, MD of Gamer Events.

EGX 2017, powered by Virgin Media, takes place on the 21-24 September 2017 at Birmingham’s National Exhibition Centre. This year marks the 10th anniversary of the event. Tickets are available to buy here.
