In news that will surprise absolutely no one who has been following Total War: Warhammer II, Creative Assembly has confirmed that the Skaven will be a playable race in the upcoming sequel.

Fans had been speculating since the game was first announced that the Rat-men horde would be scurrying into Total War: Warhammer II based on a number of hints the developers had left along the way.

Their forces are unveiled for the first time in a brand new in-engine trailer, which sees them tear through the High Elves, Dark Elves and Lizardmen who also feature in the grand strategy sequel.

Well, there we have it, gaming’s greatest mystery of the fourth Total War: Warhammer II race is finally answered. Now we can all go back to waiting for Half-Life 3.

Total War: Warhammer II will be released on September 28th for PC.
