Capcom has announced that Resident Evil Revelations will be released for PS4 and Xbox One on August 29th.
Featuring familiar faces from the series and promising a return to its survival horror roots after the increasing swing to action with Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil 5, Revelations sends Chris Redfield and Jill Valentine on another quest to pacify a bioweapon outbreak. The majority of the game takes place on a spooky cruise ship infested with a new strain of mutated monstrosities and was actually fairly solid if you’re looking for a classic Resident Evil experience.
Capcom has said the current-gen remaster of the 2012 3DS spin-off features ‘a smoother 1920×1080 resolution, an improved framerate, increased environmental detail and refined creature movement’. All previously released DLC is included too.
Resident Evil Revelations also shipped with the arcade-esque multiplayer Raid Mode that has you and a friend team up to take out enemies across a number of locations featured in the game. It returns in the PS4 and Xbox One version with a new stage: “The Ghost Ship: Chaos”.
Nintendo Switch owners will be getting both Resident Evil Revelations and it’s sequel Resident Evil Revelations 2 later in 2017.
