Final Fantasy XIV will be turning four years old next month and to celebrate Square Enix is holding two special events: a 14-hour live stream and an in-game event called The Rising.

The former will be hosted by the development team and feature the 38th instalment of the Letter From The Producer Live series, during which game director Naoki Yoshida and scenario writer Yasumi Matsuno will unveil new content coming in patch 4.1.

It’ll include discussion on the upcoming 24-man raid, Return to Ivalice, which Matsuno has been working on. If you recognise the name, it’ll be from his previous work in the Ivalice universe for Final Fantasy XII and Final Fantasy Tactics.

The live stream will also feature a number of other special guests, talks and activities.

As for The Rising, that’s already underway in-game right now. The seasonal event opens up new quests, items and activities for players until September 14th.
