Daniel Craig: James Bond actor will return once more to MI6

It’s a game of cat and mouse worthy of the world’s greatest spy. As late as yesterday, 49-year-old actor Daniel Craig was still refusing to confirm speculation about a possible return as Bond. Then finally he cracked, broken by The Late Show’s Stephen Colbert, without so much as a white cat to stroke or a third nipple on display.

Colbert asked Craig directly if he would play the secret agent again and he answered simply, “Yes”, before standing to shake the host’s hand. Craig, whose resume already includes Casino Royale (2006), Quantum of Solace (2008), Skyfall (2012) and Spectre (2015), will play Bond in the 25th film in the series, which is currently slated for release in November 2019.

He says he’s known for a “couple of months” that he would be returning to the role: “We’ve been discussing it, we’ve just been trying to figure things out. I always wanted to, I needed a break,” he said.

“I just want to go out on a high note, and I can’t wait,” he added, suggesting Bond 25 really will be his last outing as the spy. It all sounds a bit Hayao Miyazaki to us
