Yakuza Kiwami trailer shows off Kamurocho’s backstreet brawls and nightlife

Come get a better glimpse at the various goings-on throughout the streets of Kamurocho in the latest trailer for Yakuza Kiwami.

Things start off violently with the game’s protagonist, Kiryu, delivering uppercuts, headbutts and kidney punches to any unfortunate goons who dare challenge him. At one point he starts wildly swinging a motorbike around to show off some improvisational skills that would rival Jason Bourne. Brutal stuff.

Once you’re done with all the fighting you can relax with the wide variety of social activities available in the district. Shoot some pool, belt out some tunes at karaoke or play some Mahjong – if you’re really so inclined you can lose virtual money on one of those stupid arcade claw machines. Even in the virtual world, there’s no way those things pay out.

It all looks suitably bonkers, something you’re probably expecting if you’re already aware of the Yakuza series. Yakuza Kiwami is, in fact, a remake of the PS2 original, adding loads of new content to the action crime drama, from cutscenes to side-missions and remastered graphics.

Yakuza Kiwami comes to PS4 on August 29th.
