Five days. Fifteen different anime series. Marathon event. Starting to twitch, yet? Well, you will, when online streaming service Crunchyroll and social video platform Twitch join forces from 27 July 2017.

Twitch is opening up its channel for programmed content – TwitchPresents – to host a five-day marathon spanning more than 15 different anime series. It begins on 27 July at 11.30pm BST and will run until 1 August 2017.

The Crunchyroll anime marathon will feature episodes from series such as Yuri on Ice, Mob Psycho 100, Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid, and Rokka: Braves of the Six Flowers – the full programming schedule will be revealed on 21 July, so check back then for details.

“Anime content on Twitch always sparks a lot of positive feedback from our community given how gaming and anime culture have borrowed a lot from each other,” says Annie Berrones, a director at Twitch. “By partnering with Crunchyroll for our first ever anime marathon and featuring more than 15 different series over the course of five days, we will be able to tap into this passion of our community in a much more robust fashion than ever before.”

To celebrate the marathon, Twitch is releasing new and exclusive emotes, which are themed after some of the featured series. Emotes will be accessible to viewers who subscribe to the TwitchPresents channel.

Crunchyroll joins a list of providers that have aired TV marathons on Twitch, including Bob Ross’ The Joy of Painting, Julia Child’s The French Chef, Pokémon, Power Rangers, Cosmos: A Personal Voyage, Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood, and Mystery Science Theater 3000.
