If you’re down for some wild speculation, a tweet from Japanese developer PlatinumGames might suggest Nintendo Switch ports of Bayonetta and Bayonetta 2 are coming soon.
The above artwork, posted to the dev’s Japanese account, shows the game’s heroine as she appears in Bayonetta 2 on a blue background with a flipped image of her from the original Bayonetta on a red background. What could those blue and red backgrounds represent? Well, many have assumed it’s a reference to the blue and red Joy-Con controllers on the neon Nintendo Switch.
PlatinumGames are doing all they can to fan the flames further by liking a number of tweet replies that point out this connection. No official confirmation or denial has been made, however.
Remember, though, that Bayonetta 2 was originally released as a Wii U exclusive when Nintendo stepped in to help fund the sequel. If there are plans to port both games to a home console then the Switch is the most likely target. For now, we can only wait and see.
