Mia Sutton features in what should be the final character poster for the upcoming live action Death Note adaptation (Netflix says it has “saved the best for last”).

Mia (played by The Leftovers’ Margaret Qualley) is the high school girlfriend of Light Turner, and she embarks on a crusade alongside him to rid the world of evil using the ‘Death Note’ – a notebook that has the power to kill anyone whose name is written in it.

Based on the famous Japanese manga created by Tsugumi Ohba and Takeshi Obata, we’ve already seen great black-and-white posters featuring shinigami Ryuk (voiced by Willem Dafoe) and Light (Paper Towns’ Nat Wolff), so we’re not wholly convinced this is the best. But it certainly continues the dark tone we’re hoping director Adam Wingard (You’re Next, Blair Witch) brings to it.

Death Note also stars Lakeith Stanfield (Get Out), Paul Nakauchi (Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End) and Shea Whigham (American Hustle). The Netflix original film launches globally on Netflix on 25 August 2017.
