Lost Sphear, the next title from those oh so nostalgic developers over at Tokyo RPG Factory, will be released 23rd January 2018 for PS4, Nintendo Switch and PC.

If you’ve played I Am Setsuna you should already have a pretty good idea what to expect from Lost Sphear. This ‘spiritual successor’ is set to expand upon a lot of the traditional JRPG features and mechanics seen in that debut release from the studio.

There’s a young boy who goes on a journey to save the world with a party of allies, a reworked ATB system for combat, and a vast overworld to explore and venture across. It’s everything you’d expect to find in a JRPG inspired by the genre’s golden era.

If you’re confident enough to take the plunge this early you can pre-order digital copies on PS4 and PC now. Pre-orders on the PlayStation Store get a ‘Memoirs of the Moon’ dynamic theme and two music tracks. A pre-order on Steam will get you a custom Lost Sphear wallpaper, as well as two music tracks. A limited edition physical release will be made available on the Square Enix Online Store for both console versions.

I Am Setsuna was a solid little JRPG so there’s a lot of potential for Tokyo RPG Factory to realise their ambitions further with Lost Sphear.
