Destiny 2 beta extended

Good news Guardians, Bungie has announced that they have extended the Destiny 2 beta until 6pm PST Tuesday (or 1am BST Wednesday for us in the UK).

Players who pre-ordered the shooter sequel have been dabbling with the game since last Tuesday, trying out the first couple of story missions, two PvP modes and maps, and a lengthy Strike mission. Bungie then opened the beta up for all players on Friday and was planning to close it down again on Sunday.

Despite a two day extension, it’s unclear whether any new content will be added to the beta during this time. Players were temporarily given access to the new social space, The Farm, for a short period of testing late last week so there’s a chance you’ll see something new. That said, it seems the additional time is mostly for service testing and some more “dangerous experiments” according to a tweet from Bungie.

In any case, it’s more time to try out the compelling shoot and loot loop of Destiny 2 until its release on September 6th for PS4 and Xbox One. A PC release will follow on October 24th.
