Frozen the Musical is currently in rehearsals before its debut in August. For fans that can’t wait, Disney have released a behind the scenes look where you can view the rehearsals and hear snippets from the team behind the production.

Directed by Michael Grandage, with Rob Ashford as choreographer, the musical adaptation stars Caissie Levy as Elsa and Patti Murin as Anna, who are seen performing in the video. The show also stars Jelani Alladin as Kristoff and Greg Hildreth as Olaf.

The musical has the involvement of the creators of the film. With book by Jennifer Lee, co-writer and co-director behind the film, Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez have also returned to write the music and lyrics, revealing that they have written new songs, bringing the total of songs in the musical up to 21.

Loosely based on Hans Christian Andersen’s The Snow Queen, the musical expands on the story, with the stage show told in two acts and expected to run at two and a half hours. It premieres at the Buell Theatre in the Denver Center for the Performing Arts from 17 August to 1 October, before moving to Broadway at the St. James Theatre in spring 2018.

Disney’s Frozen was released in 2013 and went on to become the highest grossing animated film of all time, earning over $1.2 billion, as well as winning two Academy Awards for Best Original Song (for ‘Let It Go’) and Best Animated Feature.
