Issue 63 of MyM magazine is out now, featuring little-known actor Tom Cruise (really, you’ve heard of him?) on The Mummy, superstar comic-book artist John Royle drawing an amazing three-fold GI Joe cover, and prolific cult filmmaker Charles Band on the world’s deadliest toys!

EDITOR’S LETTER

Welcome to Issue 63! Did you make it to London without too many hiccups? You did better than some of our guests then, with a missed flight and a lost passport just two of the reasons we were kept on our toes during a super-busy MCM London Comic Con. But don’t worry, we hear from every big name at the event and highlight all our favourite cosplay, so even if you did have a little travel trauma, you won’t miss out.

If there was ever a magazine that embodied the spirit of an MCM Comic Con, this is it. We have movie magic to spare, beginning with Tom Cruise chatting about new monster flick The Mummy, continuing with our pick of the top 10 3D movies, and finishing with a man famous for filming puppets.

We construct our very own Comic Village, with manga and comic reviews aplenty, and an exclusive look behind the creation of an amazing triple GI Joe cover. There’s also plenty of video games action, as we preview Destiny 2, SpellForce 3, Far Cry 5 and ELEX, then chat with the creative minds behind Final Fantasy XII: Zodiac Age.

Then there’s Pop Asia, as we introduce up-and-coming visual kei rockers Azana, before getting superstar DJ Sasha to stay off a plane long enough to grill him about the current state of dance music. And if you think we don’t have the kind of merch you’d elbow your way through crowds to secure, think again: check out My Goodies and our in-depth look at how anime squeezes every last Yen out of its audience for more on that. See you in Northern Ireland. Hang on… where did we put that passport?!
