The Monster Hunter series is set to make a giant leap into the modern day when its latest entry, Monster Hunter: World, launches on PS4, Xbox One and PC in Early 2018.

Announced during Sony’s E3 press conference, Monster Hunter: World looks as if it’ll offer a similar experience to previous entries as you venture across a vast land alone or with a group of fellow players to tackle beasts of all shapes and sizes.

There’s an in-depth crafting system so you can make use of all that gathered loot and detailed character progression that will allow you to improve your hunter’s skill to fight even stronger foes. Drop-in multiplayer will also be supported.

“Monster Hunter: World introduces a living, breathing ecosystem in which players take on the role of a hunter that seeks and slays ferocious beasts in heart-pounding battles that unfold across the vast ever-changing terrain,” says the official blurb. If you’ve ever played a Monster Hunter game before you’ll know to be prepared to lose all your time to this again.
