Nintendo has announced that Metroid Prime 4 is currently in development for Nintendo Switch and will be released at an indeterminate time in the future.

The briefest of teaser trailers was quietly unveiled during the company’s E3 presentation and displayed little more than the game’s logo over a familiar soundtrack. It was still enough to build monumental levels of hype.

Not much else is known about the title except Metroid Prime Trilogy developers, Retro Studios, will not be working on the project. However, the series producer, Kensuke Tanabe, will be involved.

After the disappointing Metroid: Other M on Wii and the ten-year gap since the release of Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, the news is incredible for fans of the intergalactic bounty hunter, Samus Aran.
