Final Fantasy creator Hironobu Sakaguchi is to reveal Terra Battle 2 as the latest game from his current studio, Mistwalker, on June 22nd, Siliconera has confirmed.

The announcement has been found in an upcoming issue of Japan’s Famitsu magazine, which will take the first in-depth look at Terra Battle 2. According to Siliconera, the piece will also discuss another title Sakaguchi and his team are working on named Terra Battle World.

The original Terra Battle was a terrific little strategy-RPG released on mobile in 2014 that drew from a lot of similar myth and legend the Final Fantasy series is known for, as well as icons from his games as part of Mistwalker. That includes Lost Odyssey – possibly one of the best JRPGs of the modern era.

We’ll have to wait until the 22nd to learn more about the sequel, but based on the history it’s certainly one to keep an eye on!
