Bethesda used their E3 showcase to announce two long-rumoured sequels, Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus and The Evil Within 2.

The first is a follow-up to 2014’s first-person shooter The New Order and sees the return of BJ Blazkowicz in an alternate history 1961 where the Nazis maintain rule over the world. As a member of the Resistance, you’ll have to take up arms to eliminate the Nazi threat across various locations in the US, including Roswell, New Orleans and Manhattan.

“Only you have the guts, guns, and gumption to return stateside, kill every Nazi in sight, and spark the second American Revolution,” the official blurb frighteningly claims. You’ll be able to get started on that from October 27th for PS4, Xbox One and PC.

Elsewhere, Japanese survival horror maestro, Shinji Mikami, is set to deliver a whole new bunch of scares in The Evil Within 2. You’ll step into the shoes of detective Sebastian Castellanos once again, this time following a lead that suggests his missing daughter is still alive.

“The Evil Within 2 presents a mix of closed off, claustrophobic environments that are reminiscent of the first game, and new, less linear areas that will give you the opportunity to explore at your own pace,” say Bethesda. The brief teaser trailer gives some impression of this, but more than anything it shows how utterly terrifying the sequel will be again. If you’re feeling brave The Evil Within 2 launches on October 13th (that’s Friday the 13th) for PS4, Xbox One and PC.
