The Walking Dead’s Scott Gimple Discusses A Possible Glen Return

Don’t.

Panic.

Seriously.

We know this looks like more Schrodinger’s Glen nonsense but trust us, there’s no extra swerve coming. Glenn, like Abe, is dead. And Glenn, like Abe, may not be done with the show anyway. We really enjoy, and are very interested by, The Walking Dead‘s unusual approach to this side of its world. There’s a reading of the season 7 finale in particular that puts every scene with Abe into a supernatural space  much like elements of Tyreese’s death a couple of years ago. Or it was just hallucinations. The beauty of it is both explanations work.

Which is also why Glenn’s possible return could work. Talking to TV Line‘s Michael Ausiello, Scott Gimple was remarkably upfront about the possibility of seeing Glenn again.

As Maggie gets closer to giving birth, it’s “certainly possible,” says EP Gimple, that Steven Yeun might reprise his role for some newly created flashbacks or a vision or something. “I’d be silly to say it isn’t.”

He hints at a little more in the main article, including how little time has passed in Maggie’s pregnancy and how that could be a factor in any visions of Glenn. Regardless, we like how open the show is to the possibility and also welcome any chance to see him again. Sure, Steven Yeun is doing great work on Voltron but we really do still miss Glenn.

The Walking Dead is back later this year and Fear The Walking Dead returns on 5 June.
