Five Nights At Freddy’s is a monstrously successful series of computer games, starring the hapless security guard at Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza. Freddy’s is… not the best-maintained restaurant ever and the animatronics are both faulty and almost certainly evil. Trapped in the security office, the player must avoid being jump-scared by any of the very mobile indeed animatronics across five white knuckled levels. It’s a great, simple idea that has spawned several sequels and huge interest from Hollywood. Judging by this tweet from creator Scott Cawthorn, the series may have found a home…

Blumhouse is absolutely our favourite horror production house and we’re not alone. They’re the people behind the monstrously successful Get Out and Split and their production model is so fascinating we’re going to link to an entire podcast about it. Yes it’s economics, no it is really interesting, we promise.

Blumhouse’s delightfully low-tech approach (One location! Minimal characters!) is absolutely a perfect fit for Five Nights at Freddy’s and we’re really excited to see this come to fruition. Also terrified of course but that’s the idea.
