We are very much into cosmic horror here at MCM Towers. Whether it’s the Upside-Down or the hard-pressed staff of Charles Stross’s Laundry books holding back the squamous and rugose and political, we are always there for a good bit of the starry wisdom.

So we are very excited about The Void. Opening this weekend in the UK, here’s the synopsis:

Encountering a blood-soaked man on a dark deserted road, a police officer rushes the victim to the local hospital. Soon the staff and patients are trapped by a terrifying, otherworldly threat and forced on a hellish voyage into the depths of the building to escape the nightmare.

You can find the poster over here and the stills are below.

If you’re a fan of Slither, The Thing, The Crazies, David Cronenberg or Stranger Things, this looks like it’s for you. The trailer, which is both great and SUPER gory, is here. The movie is released on 31 March, hits digital 7 April and will be released on Blu-ray and DVD on 24 April.
