Issue 54 of MyM is out now, featuring Red Dwarf XI, Power Rangers, the Top 10 Final Fantasy villains, master martial artist Hwang In-Shik and every big reveal from Gamescom 2016!

EDITOR’S LETTER

Welcome to issue 54! And what a cracking issue we have for you this month. For starters, we can finally shout all about our trip to Pinewood Studios to see a space adventure being filmed. Nope, Star Wars was next door – we’re talking Red Dwarf! The Brit sci-fi comedy returns to your screens this month and we’ve got the inside skinny (see page 67) from cast and crew, including Robert Llewelyn’s loose-lipped talk about everyone’s make-up habits! It seems his transformation into a robot is now only just a little longer than some of the other cast members’ routines…

When we weren’t sitting at the controls of Starbug (squeeee!), we were barrelling around a computer games convention in Germany and punishing our digits through playtesting. Our coverage of the massive Gamescom event starts on page 16 and it’ll heighten your hype for the best upcoming titles.

Continuing the video game theme, and with all the Final Fantasy exposure at the moment (CG movie Kingsglaive is reviewed on page 75), we look back at the characters who were good at being bad (see our countdown of the top 10 Final Fantasy villains on page 28).

But never let it be said that an issue of MyM isn’t educational. If you learn only one thing from Issue 54, you haven’t read it properly! Because this month we school you in the lore of comic-book crossovers (see page 21), look back over an amazing career for the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers (page 57) and tell you everything you need to know to get the best out of Neil Gaiman’s immensely enjoyable output (page 25).

All before we chat with everyone’s favourite unmotivated egg (page 6). If you ask us, we think that’s more than un oeuf.

Matt Chapman, Editor
