BAND-MAID To Release First International Album Via JPU Records

BAND-MAID (Brand New MAID) Type B (low)BAND-MAID’s third mini-album, Brand New MAID was just released in Japan (on 18 May 2016). However, to save fans from having to import, it has now been announced that the album will see an international release across the UK and Europe, courtesy of JPU Records.

It can be purchased here from 17 June 2016, with the CD version containing an exclusive bonus track, as well as an extra booklet containing lyric translations and transliterations into English.

If you can’t wait till June, then you can grab a copy early at MCM London Comic Con, taking place at the ExCeL London Centre between 27-29 May. BAND-MAID will be in attendance throughout the convention, performing on the Fringe Stage on the Saturday and Sunday of the event, as well as the event’s party on Saturday evening, taking place in the Platinum Suite.

BAND-MAID will also be part of a daily panel exploring Japan’s music scene, taking place on the Pop Asia Stage in the North Hall. JPU Records’ booth will be adjoined with the Pop Asia Stage, where BAND-MAID will be signing and meeting fans each day.

BAND-MAID formed in Tokyo in July 2013, with each member having a musical background. The group consists of Miku (guitar and vocals), Saiki (vocals), Kanami (guitar), Akane (drums) and Misa (bassist). With their combination of hard rock, while incorporating the culture of maid cafés (performing in authentic maid costumes), the group have been “breakin’ new gate” since their music videos for Thrill and REAL EXISTENCE went viral, both of which have achieved over 2 million views on YouTube.
